Anonymous usage events: which pages you open and which actions you take (adding a game, sharing a link, revealing the example). That's it. By default this is cookieless and carries no name, no account, no way to single you out. Each visit looks like a fresh, anonymous one.

Your IP address is never stored. Analytics run through wishvane's own server, which strips the address before anything leaves for the analytics tool, so it only ever sees the server, not you.

If you accept on the banner, wishvane sets one cookie so it can recognize your browser across visits. That sharpens the numbers (I can tell a returning visitor from a new one) and nothing more. It still isn't tied to a name or sold to anyone. Decline and everything stays anonymous; you'll still be able to use every part of the site.

Analytics are handled by PostHog, served first-party through wishvane so no third-party scripts run on the page. Your comparison (the games you're comparing) lives in a hosted database and is reachable by anyone with your link; the link is the key, so share it deliberately. Game data comes from Steam and SteamSpy.

Most of wishvane needs no account at all. The one thing that does is a market plan, because it has to survive your browser. Creating an account stores the minimum that makes sign-in work: your email, plus a hashed password, or your Google identity if you sign in that way. Sign-in mail (a magic link, a password reset) is delivered by Resend; authentication runs on Better Auth and lives in the same hosted database as the rest of wishvane.

That's the whole use. Your email is for signing in, not a mailing list, and your account is never joined to the anonymous usage analytics above. Want it gone? Ask me and I'll delete the account and everything attached to it.
